Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Power Unit Specialist in Cincinnati, OH to build, test, diagnose, repair, and service power units and compactors. The role involves mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fabrication work with limited supervision, following established procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities include field installations, diagnosing issues, estimating labor and parts, and documenting work using standard repair times.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of relevant experience in industrial equipment, hydraulics, electrical systems, mechanical repair, heavy equipment, compactors, or related field.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Experience with fabrication and welding.
• Experience with LOTO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, build, test, and brand power units for installation in accordance with RFQs, specifications, and established procedures
• Assist with installation, service, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of power units and compactors in the field
• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair compactors and related equipment
• Perform safety and operational inspections to ensure compliance with standards and codes
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment issues and determine corrective action
• Read and interpret schematics to diagnose and repair equipment
• Estimate labor time, materials, and parts for repairs
• Utilize SAP to record labor hours, parts, and information
• Assist with machine builds, modifications and equipment projects
• Perform fabrication and welding activities
• Follow instructions and safety procedures
• Maintain clean and safe work area
• Communicate equipment conditions and results effectively
• Assist other team members as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
