With a rapidly growing portfolio across solar, wind, storage, and hybrid assets, we’re looking to expand our commercial trading team with a high-impact Power Trader in our New York office.

Position:

We are seeking an experienced Power Trader with a strong technical foundation and deep knowledge of North American power markets. The ideal candidate will lead day-ahead and real-time trading strategies, optimize asset performance, and identify arbitrage and hedging opportunities across ISOs. This role requires a sharp analytical mindset, market intuition, and the ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Day to Day:

• Execute real-time and day-ahead trading strategies across multiple ISOs (e.g., NYISO, PJM, ISO-NE, ERCOT).
• Analyze market fundamentals, transmission constraints, and weather impacts to optimize dispatch and bidding strategies.
• Develop and maintain power flow models, congestion forecasts, and pricing analytics tools.
• Work closely with asset management, origination, and risk teams to align trading strategy with portfolio goals.
• Monitor market rules, tariff changes, and regulatory developments across regional power markets.
• Identify and capitalize on financial trading opportunities, including virtuals, CRRs, FTRs, and bilateral positions.
• Support long-term revenue strategy for renewable and storage assets through hedging and forward market participation.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal trading systems.

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in power trading (physical and/or financial), ideally with exposure to renewable assets.
• In-depth knowledge of North American ISO/RTO operations and market structures.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills; advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel.
• Experience with trading platforms and data tools (e.g., Yes Energy, Genscape, ABB/Ventyx).
• Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions under uncertainty and pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Energy Systems, or related field.
• Prior experience with battery storage optimization or hybrid asset trading.
• Familiarity with nodal pricing, LMP forecasting, and machine learning applications in trading.
