Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a Power Systems Test Engineer to support protection and commissioning across the Midwest while working remotely from home and traveling to substations. The role focuses on testing protective relays, control schemes, and HV equipment, with flexible hours and travel within the region.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years of utility relay testing experience, hands-on relay test set usage (SEL/GE or similar), and a B.E. in electrical engineering or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in utility or substation relay testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with relay test sets and relay software (SEL, GE or similar).
• A bachelor's degree in EE or a related field, or equivalent experience. NETA certification is not required.
• Comfort with flexible hours, weekends and frequent driving.

This is a field engineering role testing and commissioning protection and control systems for electric utility customers across the upper Midwest. You'll work from home and drive to substations across your territory.

What you'll do

• Test and commission protective relays, control schemes and substation equipment on transmission and distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot, run start-ups and collect test data on HV equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and DC elementaries.
• Work independently on site, and report findings to customers and project leads.

What you bring
