Job summary

Eden Capital Careers is seeking a field engineer to test and commission protective relays, control schemes and substation equipment across the upper Midwest. You will work from home and travel daily to utility sites within your territory.

Role requires 3–5+ years in utility or substation relay testing, hands-on relay test sets (SEL, GE) and a Bachelor's in EE or related field. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in utility or substation relay testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with relay test sets and relay software (SEL, GE or similar).
• A bachelor's degree in EE or a related field, or equivalent experience. NETA certification is not required.
• Comfort with flexible hours, weekends and frequent driving.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission protective relays, control schemes and substation equipment on transmission and distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot, run start-ups and collect test data on HV equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and DC elementaries.
• Work independently on site, and report findings to customers and project leads.
