Job summary

Hitachi Energy's Raleigh, North Carolina research center seeks a Research Scientist in Power Systems to lead transformative R&D across grid control, simulation, and optimization. You will model dynamic system behavior, explore microgrid control strategies, and collaborate with external partners to push the frontier of energy infrastructure.

The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with power-systems specialization, is fluent in English, and proficient in Python or C++.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems.
  • Deep understanding of power system dynamics and control mechanisms.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Programming in Python or C++.
  • Need work authorization to work in the United States for Hitachi Energy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead R&D projects in power systems and related fields.
  • Collaborate with a global team to solve real-world challenges for customers.
  • Develop novel ideas for next-generation power systems.
