Job summary

Carter Machinery Company is seeking a Project Manager - Carter Global Power based in Richmond, VA to lead complex distributed power generation projects from award through handover. You will manage scope, schedule, cost, and risk while coordinating with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• Progressive project management experience in power generation, energy infrastructure, or heavy industrial construction is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle project delivery for distributed power generation systems, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with tight scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk controls.
• Serve as primary client contact, ensuring clear communication and proactive issue resolution throughout the project.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors from RFI through procurement, delivery, installation, commissioning, and demobilization.
• Develop RFQs, scopes of work, and material requirements with Engineering and PM teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related technical field (Or equivalent field experience)
