Job summary

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for Carter Global Power in Richmond, VA. The role oversees complex distributed power generation projects from award to handover, coordinating engineering, procurement, and field teams to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will manage multiple vendors, drive RFQs, review submittals, and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets. The position requires strong communication, leadership, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Minimum five years of project management experience in power generation or heavy industrial construction.
• PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with multi-vendor environments and complex budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle project delivery for distributed power generation systems.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk control.
• Serve as primary customer contact and ensure proactive issue resolution.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors from RFIs to demobilization.
• Develop RFQs, scopes of work, and BOM/LOM in collaboration with teams.
• Travel 25–50% to project sites for kick-offs and commissioning.
