Carter Machinery is hiring a Project Manager for Carter Global Power in Mechanicsville, VA. You will lead distributed power generation projects from award through handover, coordinating vendors and internal teams to deliver safely, on time, and within budget.

The role requires a strong background in power generation, multi-project management, and excellent communication. Significant travel (25–50%) is expected and the company offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
• 5+ years of progressive project management experience in power generation or heavy industrial construction.
• PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle project delivery for distributed power generation systems, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Manage multiple projects with strict control of scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk.
• Serve as primary point of contact for customers to ensure clear communication and proactive issue resolution.
