Job summary

BlackRock Resources, LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design activities for process-industry projects. You will collect data, perform calculations, and develop technical specifications and reports in collaboration with diverse disciplines.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, PE license preferred, 5+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of NFPA standards, power systems, and AutoCAD/Revit.

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license highly preferred.
• 5+ years of electrical systems design experience in an engineering consulting organization or related field.
• Knowledge of single line and schematic diagrams, P&IDs and NFPA standards.
• Experience in power distribution, substation hardware specification, and power system modeling.
• Knowledge of short circuit analysis, ARC flash studies, voltage drop and cable sizing.
• Experience with SKM and/or ETAP electrical modeling software
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit or BIM Software.
• Experience with photometrics calculations using AGI32.
• Experience with lighting design and grounding.
• Experience with Lightning Protection design per NFPA standards.
• Experience with Fire Alarm Design per NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare data/information, perform detailed engineering calculations, and write formal engineering and technical reports.
• Partner with different disciplines to deliver products.
• Develop technical specifications and data sheets, perform technical evaluation of bids, and recommend best value design which meets client requirements for operability, reliability, maintainability, and safety.
• Provide leadership in field work by checking installations and problem-solving activities.
• Perform calculation checking and vendor drawing reviews.
• Serve as discipline lead on single and multi-discipline projects by estimating work hours, developing scope of work, making staffing recommendations, and checking drawings.
• Interact with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
• Provide leadership in performing engineering design services using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Software.
