Job summary

Hatch is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in our Tampa, FL office. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support engineers on power system studies and design tasks while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a global environment.

The role emphasizes practical learning in load flow and short-circuit analysis, equipment procurement specs, and reports for power system studies. You are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or chemical engineering with a 3.0

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or chemical engineering with an interest in controls or computer science
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Responsibilities

  • Assist Electrical Engineers in preparing engineering calculations such as load flow analysis and short circuit analysis
  • Prepare technical specifications for equipment procurement and construction contracts and write reports for power system studies such as arc flash analysis, protective device coordination, and transient stability studies
  • Acquire knowledge in power distribution systems, instrumentation and controls, switchgear, stand-by power systems, load and fault current calculations, power flow and shortcircuit analysis, SCADA and telemetry, lighting systems, and NEC code compliance
  • Gain valuable on-site practical experience
