Job summary

The City of Austin's Power Production and Electrical Services Delivery department seeks an experienced electrical engineer to design and assist in electric utility facilities, including generation, substations, transmission and distribution, and SCADA/EMS systems. The role supports energization projects and regulatory compliance with NERC, FERC, ERCOT, and TX PUC standards.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 years of related experience.
Experience with electric utility operations including generation, transmission, and distribution.
Ability to comply with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Perform power system studies and develop design documents for generation, transmission, distribution, substations, and SCADA/EMS.
Prepare circuit maps, control diagrams, and data bases for electrical facilities.
Provide technical support for planning, budgeting, and project energization with field personnel.
Assist in meeting NERC, FERC, ERCOT, and TX PUC standards.
