Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Power Systems Engineer for Starship Avionics to design, analyze, and test high voltage power systems including batteries, DC‑DC converters, and power distribution for spacecraft applications.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams across design, test, and production to verify power system performance and support mission‑critical deadlines in a fast‑moving aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• 1+ years of experience with high voltage systems, lithium‑ion batteries, solid state load switches, DC‑DC power converters, or power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise in design, system analysis, and testing of high voltage power systems.
• Work on electrical power system and sub‑system level design trades and develop requirements.
• Define and perform electrical power system verification testing and analysis.

POWER SYSTEMS ENGINEER (STARSHIP AVIONICS)

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise in design, system analysis, and testing of high voltage systems, including lithium-ion batteries, solid state load switches, DC-DC power converters, and power distribution optimization
• Work on electrical power system and sub-system level design trades and develop requirements
• Define and perform electrical power system verification testing and analysis
• Work with multidisciplinary teams of design, test, and production engineers to create new power electronics hardware
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 1+ years of experience with high voltage systems, lithium-ion batteries, solid state load switches, DC-DC power converters, or power distribution (personal projects, research, internships, and extracurricular academic projects qualify)
  
  

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Previous experience with DC-DC power converters, electric motors, lithium-ion batteries, or solid state load switches
• Experience with electric drivetrains in aircraft flight control surfaces, electric vehicle traction systems, or similar applications
• Experience in modeling, simulation, and testing of electrical power systems
• Understanding of design for fault tolerance and reliability
• Familiarity with power supply testing and packaging for harsh environments
• Experience with in-lab impedance measurement and loop-gain measurement
  
  

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission critical deadlines
