Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Power Systems Engineer with 5+ years of experience in protection and control system design, power system analysis, and related bid documents for electrical transmission and distribution projects. The role covers 138 kV to 2.4 kV systems and opportunities to lead initiatives in commercial, industrial, generation, and renewables sectors.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
5+ years in protection and control design, cost estimating, and bidding for substations.
PE license desired but not required.
Experience with IEEE, NERC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, ANSI standards.
Experience with telecommunications, protective relaying, and SCADA.
Interest in low voltage coordination and arc flash studies.
Familiarity with Schweitzer Engineering, GE, and Basler equipment.

Responsibilities

Design projects with clients to define scope and solutions.
Prepare protection and control drawings and panel specs.
Evaluate interoperability of relays, RTUs, LTCs and perform power flow and fault studies.
Support commissioning and system startups and checks.
