Job summary
Exowatt is seeking a senior Power Systems Engineer to lead BoP design and interconnection strategies for advanced microgrid projects in Miami, FL. You will specify transformers, switchgear, inverters, and protection schemes, ensuring reliability and grid compliance.
Responsibilities include system modeling with ETAP, PSCAD, PSS/E, and PowerWorld; integration with customer infrastructure; and collaboration with EPCs, developers, and utilities to deliver safe, scalable energy solutions.
Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years in power systems, microgrid design, or generation projects.
- Strong knowledge of power electronics and system stability.
- Experience with regulatory interconnection standards and utilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead BoP design for transformers, switchgear, inverters, and protections.
- Model and optimize microgrid integration with grid and islanded operations.
- Develop interconnection strategies meeting IEEE 1547 / NEC requirements.
- Coordinate with EPCs, developers, and customers to drive deployment.
- Perform protection coordination studies and ensure safety and reliability.
