Reporting Line

This position reports to: Business Manager-Commercial & Operation

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will act as the technical lead for all engineering activities within assignments, ensuring efficient and cost-effective execution across all disciplines. You will serve as a design authority for a specific engineering discipline and complete related assignments.

The work model is hybrid (#Li-Hybrid) with required travel, contributing to the Process Automation Marine Ports business in Houston, TX, with potential flexibility within the Gulf Coast.

You will be mainly responsible for:

  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensuring QA for the power package within scope, complying with HSE rules and regulations.
  • Communication and Coordination: Managing technical communications with customers, class, and sub-suppliers, handling all changes and requirements.
  • Approvals and Documentation: Securing client approvals, documenting agreements, and managing third-party approvals and documentation transmission.
  • Feedback and Change Management: Providing feedback to the Project Manager, managing changes beyond scope, and handling software/hardware updates.
  • Planning and Cyber Security: Planning activities, coordinating with the Project Manager, ensuring cyber security, and delivering final documentation post-commissioning.
Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree with 2+ years of experience in Drive and Motor applications.
  • Experience with ABB Drive Systems (ACS880 & ACS6080) and ABB 800XA Control Systems preferred.
  • Previous experience with U.S. Coast Guard or U.S. Navy preferred.
  • Knowledge of marine industry codes (DNV, ABS, USCG), system integration, energy storage, power generation/distribution, hybrid systems, low voltage AC switchgear, power system studies (ETAP, MATLAB).
  • Ability to develop technical specifications, review proposals, and contribute to various technical documents.
  • U.S. citizenship or Green Card required due to role activities.
