Job summary

Knobelsdorff (KE) in Minnesota seeks an electrical engineering student to design and analyze electrical power systems, performing studies and collaborating with project managers, engineers, field teams, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

You will contribute from concept through commissioning, travel on-site when required, and provide remote technical support. Pay ranges from $20–$25 per hour, with an anticipated start in May 2027.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Exposure to electrical power systems design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software such as SKM, EasyPower, ETAP.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a project-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical power systems that meet project requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes.
  • Perform power system studies and simulations to analyze performance, identify issues, and implement optimizations.
  • Support or lead power system projects through all phases, from concept and design to implementation and commissioning.
  • Prepare technical documentation including specifications, calculations, reports, and design drawings.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field teams, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities, providing both on-site field support with travel and remote technical assistance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Description

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Coursework, project experience, or exposure to electrical power systems design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software such as SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a project-driven environment.

Pay Range

We believe in paying for the value you bring to the team, and we aim to be competitive in every market we hire in.
Pay Range: $20-25 per hour
