Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Controls and Structural Engineering team at the Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC). The role supports power generation, storage, transmission, and distribution research with a focus on safe, reliable electrical systems.

You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, perform analyses, review designs, and help implement high‑power and high‑voltage equipment in a national lab environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required; Level 1 or Level 2 with corresponding experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy 'L' clearance (US Citizenship required)

Responsabilités

• Analyze current power transmission and distribution systems to inform design decisions
• Develop and apply electrical engineering principles to generation, storage, transmission, and distribution
• Design, install, and modify industrial electrical power systems with sound engineering practices
• Collaborate with customers and engineers to evaluate risks, costs, and performance
• Provide design reviews and ensure modifications meet baselines
• Maintain configuration management and develop system design descriptions and test procedures
• Coordinate testing activities with engineers, planners, and operations
• Support procurement through input on test equipment and parts
