Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
Disciplines: Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial engineering.
0–5 years of related engineering experience.
Ability to make independent decisions based on procedures.
Introductory knowledge of discipline-specific engineering software.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Ability to build relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and vendors.
Reading/interpreting engineering plans (intermediate to advanced).
MS Office proficiency (intermediate).
Effective communication with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

Apply engineering processes, design criteria, and software to design and construct power-related systems.
Support estimate preparation, develop design options, and prepare construction specifications.
Provide guidance, oversight, and QA reviews for contractors developing design solutions, estimates, and packages.
Create a safe work environment by prioritizing safety.
Understand planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance processes.
Understand the roles of internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
Understand engineering design practices and work processes.
Utilize software used in engineering design.
Understand industry and client design standards.
Assist in developing design standards and criteria for power-related systems.
Support day-to-day operations for construction and maintenance teams.
Estimate materials for projects.
Prepare and transmit construction packages and supporting specifications.
Make independent decisions based on procedures and review with supervisor as needed.
Build relationships with plant staff, design teams, and vendors.
