Job summary

HCLTech seeks a Power Systems Engineer to lead complex power system studies and electrical design initiatives across utility, data center, and infrastructure projects. You will model networks, perform protection studies, and guide multidisciplinary teams in grid integration and renewable energy assessments.

The role requires 10+ years in electrical system design, strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards, and experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, Homer Pro, and SKM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical System Design, Grid Integration, and Utility & Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE standards and utility/grid compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive power system studies such as Load Flow, Harmonic, Transient and Dynamic Stability analyses.
  • Develop and validate electrical network models and perform grid interconnection studies for BESS, Wind Power, and Microgrids.
  • Provide technical leadership across projects, coordinate with clients, utilities, and multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

HCLTech is seeking a highly experienced Power Systems Engineer to lead complex power system studies, electrical network analysis, renewable energy integration assessments, and electrical design engineering initiatives. This role will support utility, industrial, infrastructure, transportation, data center, renewable energy, and oil & gas projects while providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in power system modeling, grid integration, protection studies, renewable energy systems, and utility compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and lead comprehensive power system studies including:
  • Load Flow Analysis
  • Harmonic Analysis
  • Transient & Dynamic Stability Analysis
  • Reliability (RAM) Studies
  • Energy Loss Analysis
Modeling & Simulation
  • Develop, validate, and maintain electrical network models using:
  • DIgSILENT PowerFactory
  • ETAP
  • Homer Pro
  • SKM
  • Conduct grid interconnection and integration studies for:
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Wind Power
  • Microgrids
Electrical Engineering & Design
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design basis reports.
  • Perform equipment sizing and selection for:
  • Transformers
  • Switchgear
  • Cables
  • DG Systems
  • UPS Systems
  • Batteries
  • Capacitor Banks
  • Support grounding, earthing, lightning protection, and power quality assessments.
Project Execution & Client Engagement
  • Review vendor documentation and participate in FAT/SAT activities.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, utilities, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical capability development within the organization.

Pay Range Minimum: $ 69000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $ 125,000 per year
