# Power Systems Electrical EngineerApply**Job#: 3043005****Job Description:**Power Systems Electrical Engineer**Location:** Richmond, Virginia (Onsite)Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a traditional power engineering background to support industrial and utility-related power system projects. This position focuses on electrical distribution system design, power system studies, equipment specification, project execution, and technical leadership. This role is suited for an engineer with experience performing electrical studies and supporting industrial facilities or utility infrastructure projects.Key Responsibilities* Design electrical power distribution systems for industrial and utility facilities.* Develop electrical drawings, one-lines, wiring schematics, panel layouts, and bills of material.* Perform arc flash, short circuit, and protective device coordination studies.* Prepare technical specifications and engineering documentation.* Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.* Provide owner's engineering and consulting services, evaluating electrical equipment and recommending solutions.* Lead project planning, scheduling, technical reviews, and client communications.* Support installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities.* Collaborate with controls engineers, project managers, vendors, and clients.* Support the design and equipment selection for process, utilities, and building systems to optimize quality and cost.* Provide technical leadership to proactively reduce production downtime, including root cause analysis.Required Qualifications**Education:** A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required.**Experience:** A minimum of 10+ years of electrical engineering experience is required.**Licensure:** A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, or an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with an immediate commitment to pursue PE licensure.**Technical Skills:** Candidates must have strong knowledge of power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, protective relaying, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and industrial electrical systems. Experience with NEC compliance and electrical codes is also required. Proficiency with power system analysis software such as SKM PowerTools or ETAP is necessary for performing Arc Flash Studies, Short Circuit Analysis, and Protective Device Coordination Studies.Preferred Qualifications* Previous consulting engineering experience.* Experience supporting utility, power generation, manufacturing, or heavy industrial facilities.* Exposure to PLC, controls, or automation.* Experience mentoring junior engineers.* Strong written and verbal communication skills. *Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
