Forgent Power seeks a hands-on Controls Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for automation, testing, and commissioning of power distribution equipment. The role blends technical coding with people leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and customer-ready solutions on the shop floor and in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, controls/automation, or related field (or equivalent training).
• 8–10 years of controls engineering experience with PLC/HMI/automation focus.
• Experience leading engineers or technical staff (4–5 years).
• Knowledge of power generation and basic power.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Ethernet/IP, BACnet).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing controls engineering team.
• Ensure tests, commissioning, and customer documentation meet requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to translate designs to testing.
• Provide field support and escalate complex technical challenges.
• Drive process improvements and documentation standards.
• Balance hands-on engineering with team leadership in a fast-paced environment.
