Job summary
Caterpillar's Electric Power Division designs and implements generator control switchgear systems. This role delivers automation and control solutions for complex power networks, performing retrofit and new system projects from concept through commissioning.
You will work independently and with cross-functional teams, converting legacy PLC programs, developing PLC/HMI applications, and providing technical support to sales and service teams while ensuring safe, reliable operation.
Qualifications
- Experience with automation and controls; PLC-based systems, HMIs, and distributed control systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience across cross-functional teams and field service support.
Responsibilities
- Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with Dealer and Factory teams.
- Design, programming, testing, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage generator control systems.
- Convert legacy PLC programs and validate performance.
- Develop PLC and HMI applications and coordinate with CAD for wiring drawings.
- Provide technical support to AES Sales and Product Support Center teams and field personnel.
