Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to apply power system automation and commissioning concepts. You will support customers with design, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.

The role requires travel up to 75% and the ability to learn new skills, with a focus on quality and safety. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 75%.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Know and apply fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of power system automation and commissioning.
  • Assist teams that support customers with the design, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, on-site and from SEL offices.
  • Complete assigned work within scope, schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.
  • Commissioning = perform site testing, train and assist customers with installation and operation.
