Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer to provide site-specific engineering support for Electric Power Strategic Accounts, converting customer RFQs into complete, catalog-compliant submittals that drive project execution.

The role collaborates with customers, suppliers, Project Managers, Supply Chain, and Product Development to ensure timely, accurate delivery while escalating requirements outside approved design parameters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in application engineering, project engineering, or technical submittal development for electrical or mechanical power systems.
• Experience producing submittal packages for engineer acceptance in project-driven environments.
• Experience interpreting and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
• Preferred: 8+ years of experience in application engineering, project engineering, or technical submittal development for electrical or mechanical power systems.
• Knowledge of diesel and/or natural gas generator set systems, including controls interfaces, emissions compliance (Tier 4), and enclosure configurations.

Responsibilities

• Support the site-specific RFQ engineering process from RFQ receipt through approved submittal handoff to Project Manager.
• Review customer specifications and drawings, validate alignment with the approved Bias of Design (BoD), and ensure compliance with approved catalog configurations.
• Assist with the development, approval, and management of submittal packages, revisions, and technical documentation within established design parameters.
• Identify requirements that fall outside approved catalog offerings and elevate to Product Development for evaluation.
• Support validation activities to ensure alignment with established designs, technical capabilities and catalog requirements.
• Ensure design integrity, configuration control, traceability, and adherence to engineering standards throughout project execution.
