Job summary

Synerfac Inc in Wendell, NC is looking for an Applications Engineer to support the development and delivery of medium-voltage electrical power solutions for utility and energy customers across North America.

Responsibilities include providing technical guidance on breaker applications (up to 38kV), collaborating with customers and partners, reviewing drawings and specs, delivering technical presentations, and supporting the project lifecycle from design to implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in applications engineering, proposal engineering, power systems, utility engineering, project engineering, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of medium-voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Preferences: Experience with medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, substations, or electrical protection and control systems; Familiarity with SCADA integration and applicable IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and NEC standards; Background supporting utility, power generation, transmission, or renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on generator breaker and outdoor distribution breaker applications for systems up to 38kV.
• Work directly with customers, utilities, engineering contractors, and power producers to develop appropriate electrical solutions.
• Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, technical specifications, and project requirements to develop proposals and product recommendations.
• Deliver technical presentations, participate in design reviews, and support customer discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams to develop competitive solutions.
• Support projects involving grid modernization, renewable energy integration, and electrical infrastructure improvements.
• Help customers improve system reliability, safety, efficiency, and long‑term equipment performance.
