The energy industry, particularly transmission grids, is undergoing major changes to accommodate for regional and global decarbonization and energy transition targets. Underground and subsea cable technology are increasingly becoming a major player in this energy paradigm shift to enable large‑scale renewable energy generation, such as offshore wind, green hydrogen, or large interconnectors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power system studies (external to the plant) related to interconnection to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements as well as NERC standards.
  • Support system studies project(s) throughout the whole lifecycle (i.e. from the technical bid/proposal to execution, reports, client meetings/presentations, to close‑out).
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects, delivering on time and to budget.
  • Work closely with the team members across North America and globally.
  • Work with different types of customers including renewable developers, utilities, and ISOs/RTOs.
  • Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and other technical committees such as IEEE or CIGRE.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 4 years of direct experience with system studies on utility‑scale renewable projects.
  • Experience with power system studies using PSS/E, ETAP, and PSCAD or other equivalents.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving and analytical capabilities with a focus on achieving results.
  • Team player with great interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within North America.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with system studies in California and/or WECC.
