Job summary

Electrical Design Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Power System Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in Augusta, GA. You will perform power system studies, design distribution networks, and support generation and transmission projects, ensuring code compliance and reliable operation.

Collaborate with designers, project managers, and clients, review drawings, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering tools and practices while prioritizing safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of power systems including distribution, transmission, and utilization.
• Experience performing power system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
• Solid foundation in electrical engineering principles applied to real-world projects.
• Understanding of power generation systems and related equipment (generators, switchgear, transformers, protection).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license or EIT status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies for industrial, commercial, and utility projects.
• Design and analyze power distribution systems and support generation/transmission projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations and technical reports; review drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with internal designers, project managers, clients and other disciplines; participate in site visits as needed.
