Our client is a disruptive startup looking to service the renewables space. They are in need of a strong power systems engineer for their end-client. This role requires some travel into Austin a few times per month, but the candidate must be based in Texas. You'll join a tight knit team with several projects in the pipeline.

Responsibilities:

• Design and define control system architecture for large-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.
• Integrate diverse OT systems (SCADA, ICS, CMMS) for cohesive plant operations.
• Implement communication protocols like Modbus and DNP3.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align on integration needs.
• Support data integration into renewable energy analytics and monitoring tools.
• Utilize tools like Grafana, Python, and Power BI for analysis and optimization.
• Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting and system optimization.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for system designs and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of power systems engineering experience with utility-scale solar and/or BESS.
• Strong background in high-level control systems architecture for renewables.
• Proven experience integrating control environments (SCADA, ICS, OT, CMMS).
• Expertise in Modbus and DNP3 communication protocols.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience supporting data integration for analytics and monitoring.
• Proficiency with Grafana, Python, and/or Power BI
