Job summary

Fermilab in Batavia, IL seeks a High-Power RF Electronic Technician to support PIP-II RF systems and other electronics. You will work under an engineer or senior technician, fabricating, assembling, testing, and maintaining RF components and related circuits.

The role is day shift with occasional off shifts; requires soldering, use of DVM/oscilloscopes, reading schematics, and safe operation of high power RF equipment. Onsite in Batavia, with safety and documentation emphasis.

Qualifications

• HS degree or technical certificate with 5+ years related experience.
• DOE laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain high power RF equipment and associated systems.
• Fix and replace RF system components used in RF accelerating systems.
• Develop skills for testing devices operating with high voltages and high currents.
• Prototype and test electronic circuits from engineering sketches.
• Enter relevant work information into a custom database and maintain reports.
