Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation CAD Technician in Irvine, CA. You will prepare engineering drawings using CAD software, such as One Line Diagrams, General Arrangements, and wiring diagrams, and coordinate with electrical, structural and civil teams.

Preferred qualifications include a technical degree or 3 years of related experience, plus thorough knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, MicroStation and Revit; strong communication, attention to detail and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• , Technical degree or a minimum of 3 years related industry experience
• Proficiency with 3D design software and document management infrastructure
• Competency with Microsoft Office products and communication tools
• Experience with 3D Coordination tools
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential
• Intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
• Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, MicroStation, and Revit

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings using CAD software including One Line Diagrams, General Arrangements, Grounding & Conduit Plans, Foundation Plans, BOM, Relay and Control Schematics and Wiring Diagrams
• Coordinate with engineers and designers of other disciplines throughout the project
• Perform Redline corrections and develop design drawings from initial sketches
• Perform discipline specific drafting assignments under supervision of an engineer or other technical professional
• Perform other duties as needed
