Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Power & Recovery Superintendent to lead process operations, create a safe work environment, and continuously improve quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. The role reports to the Mill Operations Manager and emphasizes safety, environmental stewardship, and strong people leadership.

Responsibilities include driving safety systems, managing environmental compliance, reducing costs, and optimizing production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering preferred and/or 5-10 years of Power/Recovery Operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety systems and processes that support achieving our continually improving annual goals.
• Lead department environmental management systems to ensure compliance and environmental stewardship.
• Focus on quality and service to be our customers' preferred supplier; drive innovation.
• Develop and maintain methods for tracking and reducing operational costs.
• Improve efficiency and effectiveness of department operations through process analysis and use of tools and resources.
• Develop stretch operating budgets and deliver financial results.
• Provide input to capital projects from inception through completion.
• Engage in strategic planning and people development.
• Foster positive Employee/Labor relations aligned with WestRock values.
