Responsibilities
60%: Develop, test, maintain and document Microsoft Power Platform and D365 solutions
Deliver all development and test applications and results to agreed upon specifications in agreed upon time frames (or coordinate with supervisor in advance if time frames do not appear to be able to be met)
Conduct thorough testing and document results
Identify and implement best practices for naming conventions, environment strategies, security and application life‑cycle management
Implement all applications such that the applications and associated architecture and integrations are performing well, secure, and are managed in a way that does not cause disruption or data integrity issues
Promote applications successfully through appropriate environments while maintaining proper change control (including documentation and rollback procedures)
Produce technical documentation that is suitable for application support
20%: Mentor and guide DPOR staff in the development and use of solutions using the Power Platform / D365 tools and provide technical consultation, training and guidance on best practices, solution design and governance standards
10%: Collaborates with business users and IT leads to understand and document solution requirements and functionality. Develops comprehensive solution documentation, including operational support manuals, user guides, workflow diagrams and training materials
10%: Actively coordinates with the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) that provisions DPOR's Power Platform and D365 Environments to administer the environments
Engages with appropriate VITA and DPOR personnel in agreed upon timeframe to ensure that all assigned applications are running appropriately, securely and in a performant manner.
Verifies that application data, integrations and environments are properly secured, backed up, retained and recoverable in accordance with approved backup schedules and disaster recovery standards
