Job summary

AEP in Gentry, AR is seeking a Welder Machinist to ensure reliable operation of plant machinery through preventive and corrective maintenance and skilled welding. You will lead and train apprentices, diagnose defects, and work with machine shop equipment to achieve precise tolerances on boiler and turbine components.

Residency within 1 hour drive to Flint Creek Powerplant is required. The role involves shift work, travel to inspect remote equipment, and adherence to safety and environmental

Qualifications

Must have 10 years of power plant machinist experience.
Proficient welding experience to pass AEP test.
Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Perform boiler, piping, and pressure vessel repairs.
Maintain mechanical components and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Operate machine shop equipment to achieve precise tolerances.
Read prints and engineering specifications.
Train apprentices in maintenance tasks.
Respond to call-outs during outages.
