Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Power Plant Operator for our Middletown, CA facility. You will oversee safe, reliable operation of plant equipment, startups, shutdowns, monitoring, and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities include data logging, troubleshooting, LOTO compliance, and coordinating with maintenance teams to optimize performance. Shift work is required and familiarity with DCS/SCADA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of power plant operations experience preferred.
• Experience with utility-scale power generation facilities.
• Familiarity with DCS/SCADA and LOTO procedures.
• Ability to read P&IDs and technical documents.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate power generation equipment from control room and field.
• Perform startups, shutdowns, and system alignments.
• Conduct routine inspections and data recording.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes; coordinate corrective actions.
• Support maintenance and LOTO procedures.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies; manage auxiliary systems.
• Maintain compliance with safety/environmental regulations.
• Create work requests and document deficiencies using CMMS (Maximo).
• Collaborate with maintenance, supervision and plant management.
