Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, LA, is seeking a hospital plant maintenance technician to support the Plant Operations Director and staff. Responsibilities include completing scheduled maintenance, and operating and repairing boilers, HVAC, and other mechanical systems in a hospital setting.
Requirements include high school diploma or GED, CPI training, and 2+ years in healthcare maintenance. Prior Operating Engineers license or EPA 608 certification are preferred.
To assist Plant Operations Director and department staff in any project that may be required. Performs and completes assigned Scheduled Maintenance Work Orders (PM’s), Routine and Emergency Work Orders in allotted and timely manner. Under general direction, to perform a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of boiler, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, lighting, power, water, water treatment, and other mechanical systems normally found in a Hospital; may instruct or lead other Technicians; may instruct or lead contract workers; and do other related work. Provides Security related duties M-F during daylight hours. Maintains cooperative work relationship with others. Assist in the On Call rotation and respond to emergency repairs. Comply will all Hospital training and safety requirements.

Plant Operations Manager, Plant Ops Supervisor
-High School Graduate or GED equivalent, Training in de-escalation techniques such as Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); must be able to register within one year of accepting position.
-An Operating Engineers license is preferred, An EPA Section 608 Refrigeration Certificate is preferred
-Minimum 2 years experience in a healthcare maintenance or plant operations setting, performing duties which included the operation, maintenance and repair of boiler, heating, refrigeration, ventilation and power equipment including the operation and maintenance of air conditioning systems involving the use of automatic controls. Residential and light commercial construction or maintenance experience does not apply.
-Knowledge of: Boilers and auxiliary boiler room equipment; heating, lighting, ventilating, air conditioning, power, refrigeration, building electric and pneumatic controls, water and sewer systems, water treatment and other mechanical or electrical equipment; the methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the operation, maintenance and repair of such equipment.
