Job summary

Salt River Project in Tempe, AZ seeks an Operations Specialist Trainee (OST) to complete a structured training program and develop skills for promotion to the Operator Specialist role.

The OST will gain hands-on experience across multiple power generation units and related equipment, learning to operate from the control room and across the facility while complying with SRP guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete at least one year as an O&M Specialist III or equivalent.
• Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.
• Respirator medical certification, fit test and training required.
• Physical agility test required.

Responsibilities

• Learn facility-specific operation of coal, natural gas and other power units and related equipment.
• Learn to operate and monitor equipment from the control room and throughout the plant using DCS and instruments.
• Perform site maintenance duties and assist with general site operations as needed.
• Coordinate and maintain unit availability with AGC and plan load adjustments based on system demands.
• Train personnel in plant equipment operation and procedures.
