Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in power plant operations (gas turbine, combined-cycle, or similar facilities).
• Experience directing plant operations, leading operating personnel, or supervising control room activities.
• Experience with plant startup, shutdown, troubleshooting, and equipment performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily power plant operations, including gas turbine startup/shutdown, generation monitoring, load management, and balance-of-plant operation.
• Build, train, and manage a team of plant operators and shift supervisors for safe and reliable plant operation.
• Develop and implement SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and shift turnover processes.
• Monitor plant performance: output, turbine efficiency, heat rate, temperatures, pressures, vibration, alarms.
• Direct responses to turbine trips, equipment failures, and abnormal conditions; coordinate safe restoration of generation.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to troubleshoot issues and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate plant operating schedules, shutdowns, maintenance clearances, and return-to-service activities.
• Oversee control room operations and ensure proficiency with turbine controls, DCS, SCADA.
