Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC's WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking a Direct Hire Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician to support the safe, reliable operation of a combined-cycle power facility in Niles, Michigan. The Technician reports to the Plant Manager and works with the Control Room Operator and other operations personnel to oversee field operations and equipment monitoring.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate Degree in Power Plant Technology or related field preferred.
Experience in power generation operations and maintenance in a combined-cycle facility.
Familiarity with PLCs, DCS, CEMS, CMMS.
Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Support the safe and reliable operation of plant equipment including turbines, boilers, HRSGs, and balance-of-plant systems.
Perform startup, shutdown, monitoring, inspections, and routine operational activities.
Identify abnormal operating conditions and equipment issues.
Conduct preventive maintenance, minor repairs, calibration, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
Perform operational and reliability testing on critical plant systems and monitor safety-related systems.
Collect water samples, monitor emissions control, and ensure environmental compliance.
Help with PLC, DCS, and plant control system troubleshooting and maintenance.
Coordinate planned and forced outages with contractors and vendors; maintain logs and CMMS records.
