Job summary

Ohio's Electric Cooperatives is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Technician Associate or Intern for a power plant in Convoy, Ohio. The role involves semi-skilled maintenance, operating duties, and working under supervision to support turbine, boiler, and control systems.

Under close supervision, you will perform basic checks, assist in testing and repair of electrical and instrumentation equipment, and support environmental and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Power Plant Technologies, or Industrial Engineering Technology.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret basic schematics for maintenance tasks.
• Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations and environmental health practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors about procedures and issues.
• Commitment to safe work practices and proper use of PPE and tools.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ethical behavior and leadership in safe work practices and environmental stewardship.
• Assist in checking equipment and performing start-up, operation, and shutdown tasks for turbines, generators, boilers, pumps, and related systems.
• Maintain awareness of plant operations to optimize unit economics; track discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist in monitoring and servicing electrical, instrumentation, and plant control systems using basic test equipment.
• Operate and inspect material handling equipment and perform basic mechanical maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Assist in using work management systems to manage work orders, PMs, and inventory, and prepare drawings/layouts for projects.
