Job summary

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Power Operations) for Kingston Fossil Plant in Kingston, TN. This role focuses on design, development, and testing of mechanical systems across Coal, Gas, and Hydro plants, with cross-discipline collaboration as needed to optimize performance.

The engineer will lead studies, monitor plant systems, and direct outages. A BS in mechanical engineering and progressive plant experience are required; a PE license is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from an accredited school.
• Full competence as a Power Operations Engineer with progressive plant/field experience.
• License as a Professional Engineer is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test mechanical components and equipment for coal, gas, hydro plants.
• Lead investigations using historical data and process control results to optimize performance.
• Serve as owner engineer on projects and manage outages and retrofit work.
• Oversee plant monitoring and testing activities; ensure configuration changes are documented.
