Job summary

Indianapolis Power & Light Co. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop and review boiler component specifications, including firing systems and emissions, and to coordinate with project teams through the EPC bid process.

The role includes CFD analysis, DCS operation, and hands-on support during construction and commissioning at a Petersburg facility. The successful candidate will bring 5+ years in power generation, strong technical writing skills, and the ability to train and communicate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5 years in power generation construction, operation, or related work.
• Experience developing and reviewing technical specifications for boiler components and emissions.
• Strong communication to coordinate between contractors and operation/maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review technical specifications for boiler components and emissions.
• Provide technical comments on bidders' proposals and coordinate with project team.
• Manage RFP process for EPC, evaluate EPC proposals and conduct technical negotiations.
• Review vendor submittals and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams.
