NRG Energy in Rhode Island is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support equipment at an electrical generating power plant. You will perform installation, inspection, repair, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on boilers, turbines, pumps and related systems, while following safety procedures.

Applicants should have at least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a similar industrial setting, a high school diploma or GED, and a working knowledge of SAP or

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent with basic English and math.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in power plant or machine shop equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsabilités

• Install, maintain, test, inspect, and repair equipment such as boilers, turbines, pumps, motors, valves, condensers, heat exchangers, etc.
• Replaces bearings, packing in pumps and valves, shaft seals, sleeves, seats, and other parts used in plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot stationary and rotating equipment; perform repairs per best practices.
• Operate machine shop equipment such as drill presses, pipe threaders, bench grinders and cut off saws.
• Adjust clearances and tolerances on equipment from blueprints or design drawings.
• Use micrometers and other precision devices.
