Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with four years of related work experience.
  • Experience applying engineering principles to operation and maintenance of steam, chilled water equipment, electrical generation, boilers, chiller, and distribution systems.
  • Engineer-in-training or professional engineer license.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises day-to-day custodial and/or maintenance operations of a unit, department, or school building.
  • Develops and implements maintenance policies and preventative schedules.
  • Conducts building inspections and coordinates repairs and maintenance to facilities and systems.
  • Determines staff assignments, tools and equipment requirements, and procedures for projects.
  • Plans, estimates, coordinates, and follows up on repairs, renovations, and trade projects.
  • Coordinates service activities with various trades to ensure timely completion.
  • Develops detailed work plans and daily priorities for staff.
  • Ensures up-to-date maintenance programs and procedures to meet customer needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Interacts with internal and external contacts to arrange services and obtain quotes.
  • Manages a staff of non-exempt employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
