Job summary

CAMS - Texas is seeking a Plant Engineer – Environmental Systems to oversee the Wet Limestone Slurry Flue Gas Desulfurization system at a coal-fired plant. You will own rotating equipment performance, thermal and fluid dynamics, and ensure safe operation with cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires a BS in mechanical/chemical/industrial engineering or an equivalent technical degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, plus familiarity with WFGD and plant piping systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or technical degree with coal-fired power experience; multiple pathways accepted.
• 5+ years supporting mechanical equipment in a power plant environment.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with Wet Flue Gas Desulfurization (WFGD) units.
• Experience with piping, valves, lubrication, and rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of FGD and wastewater processes and associated systems.
• Provide technical ownership for assigned plant systems, focusing on mechanical performance.
• Investigate issues, lead resolutions, and support upgrades and projects.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and Administrative groups.
• Collaborate with teams and contractors to maintain backlog of work items.
