Job summary

Merom Generating Station is seeking an Electrician to independently install, troubleshoot, test, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical systems essential to the coal-fired power plant’s operation. You will work with operations, maintenance and engineering to ensure reliability, safety and continuous improvement across plant electrical infrastructure.

The role requires an HS diploma with electrical apprenticeship coursework and several years in utility-scale maintenance, plus strong

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Coursework equivalent to four years of electrical apprenticeship.
• Experience in electrical maintenance within power generation preferred.
• Knowledge of power plant electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots or repairs and maintains electrical equipment at the generating station.
• Installs and makes available for use the listed equipment.
• Ensures work adheres to Plant Clearance Permit System.
• Reviews specifications of new equipment and verifications to advise on availability.
• Maintains accurate records of repair and maintenance activities.
• Ensures proper use and security of tools and work areas.
• Suggests maintenance improvements to supervisor for efficiency.
• Provides on-the-job training to apprentices and junior staff.
• Promotes safe practices and participates in safety meetings.
• Coordinates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other personnel to obtain clearances.
• Collaborates with manufacturers and vendors for installation, repairs and troubleshooting.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
