Job summary

OGE Energy Corporation is seeking a Plant Electrician I or II to install, repair, inspect and maintain power plant equipment and systems. The role covers motors, transformers, switchgear, PLCs and testing devices in a high‑voltage environment.

The position supports both levels, with responsibilities defined by standard processes and potential for escalation to higher levels based on qualification. Overtime and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Level I requires technical training with related field experience.
• Level II requires additional technical experience in power plant environments.
• Equivalencies include vocational certificates or military experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets electrical schematics, drawings and prints.
• Performs electrical maintenance on plant systems up to 24Kv.
• Runs conduit, installs cables, and wires equipment.
• Maintains switchgear, transformers, and plant distribution systems.
• Operates testing equipment and troubleshoots PLC-based controls.

Education

Associate's Degree in a technical discipline

High School Diploma/GED

Vocational certificate in a technical field
