Job summary

Talen Energy is seeking a Combined Cycle Control Room Operator at its Waterford Power Plant in Ohio. This full-time role operates turbines, HRSGs, and auxiliaries, monitors alarms, conducts data logging, and ensures safe, efficient plant operations around the clock.

You will use instrument and control diagrams, perform routine maintenance, manage permits, and demonstrate strong safety practices. A driving license and ability to work 12-hour shifts are required; expect overtime and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Combined Cycle Control Room experience preferred.
• 5+ years of Combined Cycle power plant experience in operations, maintenance, electrical, instrumentation and controls.
• Knowledge of plant operations, control room, Water Treatment Plant.
• Ability to analyze and calibrate plant instruments and controls.
• Must pass background check and drug & alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to operating practices and procedures to prevent injury and environmental noncompliance.
• Observe environmental, safety and health regulations.
• Perform equipment checks for safe operation during start-up, operation and shutdown of turbines and HRSGs.
• Operate valves, pumps, breakers and controls from remote locations as needed.
• Enter and review data in the logbooks and rounds logs.
• Monitor alarms and report abnormal operating conditions.
