Job summary

This position at DTE Energy is responsible for the safe, efficient regulation of fuel, air, water, and steam controls and generator loads to ensure reliable power and regulatory compliance. The Unit Operator trains power plant operators and acts as a delegate for Protective Tagging System PPO-77.

You will coordinate maintenance, schedule work, and prepare technical documentation while leading life-safety and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher, plus Power Plant Operator qualification or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of protective tagging and plant safety procedures.
• Understanding of boiler/turbine control systems and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control steam-turbo generator outputs by regulating fuel, air, water, steam and loads.
• Operate a DCS control system and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
• Lead maintenance supervision and coordinate with outside support groups.
• Schedule work and provide on-the-job training for Power Plant Operators.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and training materials.
