Job summary

NAES's Faribault Energy Park in Minnesota seeks an Auxiliary Operator to operate and maintain major plant systems under the supervision of the Control Room Operator. You will train to become a system expert and support management and maintenance staff to keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

The role includes starting and stopping plant systems, monitoring auxiliary equipment, conducting tests, logging data, and assisting with maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering, Process Technology or related field preferred.
• Valid Minnesota Special Engineer (Boiler) License or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Experience in power generation operations and maintenance of auxiliary equipment.
• Familiarity with water chemistry control and safety/regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist start-up, shutdown and routine operations of plant systems.
• Operate and monitor major auxiliary equipment and related systems.
• Perform tests, inspections and diagnostics; repair and adjust equipment.
• Clear, tag, test and secure equipment per procedures.
• Conduct water chemistry analysis and monitor emissions equipment.
• Maintain logs and report abnormal conditions; support maintenance teams.
