Outlaw Ventures in the United States is seeking a Power Origination Manager to support power and site development nationwide. You will be the liaison between Outlaw Ventures and electric utilities, focusing on outreach and evaluating interconnection opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience with electric utilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment. This position offers a competitive salary of $90,000 to $120,000 plus incentives.

Outlaw Ventures is a powered land and infrastructure developer focused on delivering sites capable of supporting next-generation data center campuses. We work directly with electric utilities, transmission providers, and power markets across the U.S. to identify and advance sites capable of supporting large-scale digital infrastructure.

As demand for power-ready data center sites accelerates, we are expanding our team and seeking a Power Origination Manager to support our power and site development efforts nationwide.

Position Overview

This role serves as a front-line liaison between Outlaw Ventures and electric utilities. The primary responsibility is to conduct frequent outreach and meetings with utilities and transmission providers to understand their interconnection processes, system capacity, and infrastructure plans.

Following each engagement, this individual will evaluate potential interconnection opportunities and deliver structured insights to Outlaw’s internal power development team for further analysis.

This is a high-volume, communication-focused role ideal for someone who can speak power and utility language, build relationships quickly, and identify viable opportunities. The ideal candidate should be able to connect utility capacity intelligence with project development fundamentals, helping Outlaw Ventures prioritize markets, advance high-potential sites, and accelerate power-ready data center campuses.

Key Responsibilities

Utility Outreach & Relationship Development

• Conduct multiple daily calls and virtual meetings with electric utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, and transmission providers
• Introduce Outlaw Ventures and its data center power requirements
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with utility key accounts, planning teams, and economic development contacts
• Build a strong network of utility contacts across target markets

Interconnection & Capacity Intelligence

• Gather and understand key information during utility conversations, including:
• Available system capacity (MW)
• Substation and voltage availability
• Interconnection and study processes
• Upgrade requirements and timelines
• Utility appetite for large-load customers (50–500+ MW)
• Speak confidently using power industry terminology
• Ask structured questions to quickly assess feasibility

Opportunity Screening & Internal Coordination

• Evaluate strength of each opportunity following utility discussions
• Prepare concise internal summaries and recommendations
• Identify high-potential interconnection opportunities
• Coordinate handoff of viable opportunities to Outlaw’s power development team
• Support follow-up technical discussions as needed
• Maintain organized database of utility conversations and opportunities
• Track capacity pockets, utility feedback, infrastructure plans, energization timelines, and market-specific development risks
• Provide regular pipeline updates to internal leadership
• Help refine target markets based on utility feedback and development feasibility

Qualifications

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
• Electric utility (planning, key accounts, economic development, or engineering support)
• Supporting renewable energy, battery storage, data center, industrial, utility‑scale infrastructure, or transmission-connected development projects
• Early-stage project development workflows, including site control, feasibility analysis, interconnection review, permitting, engineering diligence, and commercial handoff
• Evaluating development risk for site selection and communicate tradeoffs clearly to internal stakeholders
• Coordinating across land, power, engineering, legal, environmental, and commercial teams is strongly preferred

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to confidently interact with technical utility stakeholders
• Understanding of utility terminology such as MW, kV, substation capacity, transformer loading, feeder capacity, transmission constraints, N-1 reliability, generation capacity, queue position, and system impact studies (or ability to learn quickly)
• Highly organized with strong note-taking and follow-through
• Comfortable managing a high volume of external calls and meetings
• Proficient with CRM tools such as Monday.com, Excel, and pipeline tracking

Preferred (Not Required)

• Familiarity with large-load interconnections
• Exposure to ERCOT, SPP, MISO, PJM, or regulated utility markets
• Experience with GIS, Google Earth, ArcGIS, ISO queue data, or similar market-screening tools
• Experience reviewing land parcels, substations, transmission lines, zoning maps, floodplains, wetlands, slopes, and other development constraints
• Familiarity with behind-the-meter generation, bridge power, on-site generation, battery storage, demand response, or curtailment structures is a plus.
